AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) today announced that it has won the Global Semiconductor Alliance’s (GSA) Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company award in the category of chip companies achieving $500 million to $1 billion in annual sales. Silicon Labs received this coveted industry award at the 2015 GSA Awards Dinner Celebration held Thursday evening, Dec. 10, in Santa Clara, California.

The GSA’s Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company awards identify public companies garnering the most respect from the industry in terms of products, vision and future opportunities within their respective sales revenue categories. Additional considerations to be listed on the GSA ballot include profitability and market capitalization, among other financial and product successes. GSA members select the winners by casting online ballots for the semiconductor companies they most respect.

“It’s a great honor to win a GSA award and even more gratifying to be chosen as a most respected public semiconductor company by our industry peers,” said Tyson Tuttle, CEO of Silicon Labs. “Winning this prestigious award caps off an exciting year of growth and advancements in the Internet of Things market. I couldn’t be more excited about the innovations that lie ahead and the opportunities to improve lives and transform industries as we develop silicon, software and solutions for a more connected world.”

Over the past 21 years, the GSA awards program has recognized the achievements of semiconductor companies in several categories ranging from outstanding leadership to financial accomplishments, as well as overall respect within the industry.

“Silicon Labs is a very deserving winner of the Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company award in its sales revenue category,” said Jodi Shelton, president of GSA. “We applaud Silicon Labs for its competitive spirit, continued innovation, market success and strong financial results.”
