Wireless Meter Rule (Wi-Me) with an Application Interface for easy survey a d data acquisition.

Wireless Meter-rule (Wi-Me):

DESCRIPTION:
It's a system that incorporates wireless technology(WiFi), embedded system and mobile application (Andriod) to measure lengths and also use them as component values to calculate various shaped areas and volume.

KEY COMPONENTS & FUNCTIONS:
-Wireless enabled MCU (esp32-PICO-D4): The remote computing engine
-Ultrasonic sensor (x2 or x4): length sensors
-Mobile App: User Interface & Data logger

FEATURES:
-Quick easy and responsive measurement
-Data logging
-Measure lengths, Areas & Volumes
-Reliable measurement with errors compensations for the following errors: +- 3mm (length), +-9mm² (Area), +- 27mm³(Volume)
-Capture user defined measurement
-Object descriptor
-Different measurements units
-Measurement support for rigid edge objects or layouts such as L-Shape, T-Shape, E-shaped etc

TYPICAL DATA FLOW:
[1] Basic Measurement: User inputs approximate shape, sequence of measurement (ie L, B, H) and unit to measure from the Mobile App. This is sent the embedded device which measures each parameter in sequence as to the user presses a button resident on the device. This data are relayed to the app through Wi-Fi

[2] User defined Capture: User inputs the maximum lengths(L, B, H) to capture and moves the device along the measurement route such that the device blinks a red LED and at same time notifies the user's app once the maximum (threshold) length is reached by the ultrasonic sensors

The device could be handheld or rolled over a layout under measurement

APPLICATIONS:
-Construction and Mapping
-Object and layout description
-Instant measurements
To mention but a few

FURTHER WORK:
Bot Wi-Me: An Unmanned Ground Vehicle to host or carry the device during measurements yet controlled by the Mobile App via same communication medium (Wi-Fi)
