Many people are replacing their surround sound amplifier and speaker systems with "sound bar" systems so there are many good quality audio components available on auction sites at good prices, e.g. The BOSE AM-25 / 30 bass speaker Amp

So what do you get for about £30 (Euro 40, $40) on eBAy?

The BOSE bass box AM-25P or AM-30P MK2 is a powered speaker system with the following features:
-Stereo analogue inputs-S/PDIF digital signal input (coax)
-the ability to decode Dolby Digital™ digital AC-3 bitstreams.
-all audio signal processing preformed with DSP's (Loudness, speaker crossover filters etc.)
-5 x 20 watt RMS amplifiers (50 watt RMS max peak) these amplifiers use the TDA7294 chips.
-1 x 80 watt RMS amplifier  (100 watt RMS max peak) this is a discreate servo amplifier.

It can be used as the basis for your PC stereo 2.1, 3.1 or 5.1 surround system or used standalone with a Bluetooth/web streamer as the audio source and an ESP32 or Arduino handling the BOSE AM-25/30 mode setting commands.

You can use almost any small 8 ohm speaker as the 2 to 5 satellite speakers that you may have laying around. I choose to buy five small KEF 1000 series "eggs" which sound great.
